About Forward Deployed Salary

Who we are
Forward Deployed Salary publishes pay data and offer guidance for forward deployed engineering roles, sourced to published pay ranges and public filings and dated.
What we will not do
- Accept payment for coverage, or recommend a company we are connected to without saying so in the same place.
- Promise anyone a job, a raise or any other result.
- Invent authors, reviewers, testimonials, ratings, salaries or statistics.
How we check facts
Factual claims are footnoted, with a numbered link to the source. When we cannot find a source for something, we leave it out.
- Studies and reports are cited from the original paper or report.
- Facts about a company, product, program or certification come from that organization's own published pages: documentation, course and exam pages, and job postings.
- Salary and labor figures are drawn from primary data such as the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, public filings and published pay ranges, always with the date they describe.
How we make money
No company pays for coverage here, and we earn no referral fees. We have a business connection with Torchlane. Torchlane offers AI FDE training and also introduces employers to forward deployed engineering candidates.
None of our articles recommends Torchlane today. If one does, it will label it "Our top pick" and carry the note where the recommendation appears. Any link to Torchlane would pass through an address on this site that records the click; the Privacy Notice explains what is recorded. Torchlane also uses the same analytics account as this site; the Privacy Notice says what that means for you.
Every other program, company and option is described in its own published terms. We run no display ads.
This is not professional advice
Our articles explain how roles, programs and markets work and what the evidence shows. They are not a substitute for a qualified professional who knows your situation, whether the decision is about your career, a contract, a hire or money.
